DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers targeted pitching at the trade deadline, but instead of aiming for one big splash, they opted to throw a handful of pebbles across the pond. The Tigers went quantity, but that doesn’t mean they skimped on quality, said Scott Harris, the Tigers’ president of baseball operations.

The American League Central-leading Detroit Tigers have acquired Kyle Finnegan, a former All-Star closer, from the Washington Nationals before the MLB trade deadline Thursday.According to multiple reports,
