First published in 2004, “The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair That Changed America” tells the story of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, following ambitious architect Daniel H. Burnham and the murders of serial killer Dr. H. H. Holmes that took place during the event.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio ‘s long-time project The Devil in the White City has landed at 20th Century Studios, breathing life into the film that has been in development for almost 20 years.

Assuming the film moves forward, Devil in the White City will mark DiCaprio's seventh feature film with Scorsese. They previously collaborated on Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Killers of the Flower Moon.
