Now Gunn has revealed on X another look at Alcock’s Supergirl in the first poster for the upcoming “Supergirl” movie from director Craig Gillespie, which opens in theaters June 26, 2026.
The ‘Superman’ director also shut down rumors that DC Studios is looking to cast an actress “with a TV-centric resume, akin to Supergirl’s Milly Alcock" for the titular role.
The upcoming 'Supergirl' starring Milly Alcock could take place during the same time as James Gunn's 'Superman' after considering the ending of the latter.
David Corenswet’s Superman movie had a special cameo appearance by Milly Alcock. The 25-year-old marked a surprise presence as Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl towards the end of the movie.Kara
The Supergirl film, titled Woman of Tomorrow, also stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. Fans reacted excitedly to the poster. One commented, “I loved her cameo at the end.
Hot off the heels of the blockbuster success of Superman, DC Studios is ready to introduce us to another child of Krypton already. After tiny teases throughout its production, we have our first proper look at Milly Alcock’s Supergirl.
Alcock shared the meme just moments after DC boss James Gunn posted the first Supergirl poster. The new look shows the hero standing in front of a Superman mural, which she has vandalized, whilst she drinks an unknown beverage from a paper cup. Both the meme and the poster sure do fit with Supergirl’s wild reputation as introduced in Superman.
Released yesterday (July 16) by DC Studios co-chief James Gunn, it shows the eponymous hero sipping on a Slurpie as she poses next to the immediately recognizable 'S' symbol that adorns her and fellow Kryptonian Superman 's outfits.
