Shubman Gill marked his return to domestic red-ball cricket with a century for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy. Battling without much support from the other end, Gill displayed resilience, scoring 102 runs off 171 balls.

Shubman Gill identified this as an area of concern soon after making a fine second-innings hundred for Punjab on the third day of their Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka.

Shubman Gill has admitted that his “red-ball batting” is a bit of concern as he loses “concentration” after getting a start. Gill scored an excellent second-innings century (102) on Day 3 but his 14th first-class century, couldn’t prevent Punjab from going down by an innings and 207 runs against Karnataka.
