A shooting behind a Roxborough apartment building left a 32-year-old man dead Tuesday night, Philadelphia police said. The shooting happened in a parking lot behind an apartment building on the 7000 block of Ridge Avenue around 9 p.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to investigate the fatal shooting, which happened sometime before midnight on I-275.

A man reported to have a firearm who was shot dead by officers was carrying a knife, police confirmed. Officers were called to Milton Keynes Central at 12:55 BST on Tuesday where they initially said they challenged a suspect carrying a firearm, before a shot was fired.

"This was a calculated attempt to murder one of my officers," Chief Matthew Bade said after Sgt. Blake Hiben survived the shooting.
