The most recent Nintendo Direct went into great detail on the new Switch 2, including when fans will be able to get their hands on the console. According to Nintendo's press release, pre-orders for the Switch 2 open up on April 9 in North America,

At the moment, we know of around 20 new and old games that will be available on launch day. So far Nintendo has only confirmed two first-party launch titles for Switch 2: A new Mario Kart and a weird Switch 2 tutorial game that looks like something that should be included for free (but won’t be).
During Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct showcase, the company revealed two dates that fans should immediately take note of, and scribble hastily into their calendars: its June 5 release date, and even sooner, the date when you can place a pre-order for the console. You can put money down for the Switch 2 starting Wednesday, April 9 at numerous retailers.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will soon be yours, barring any supply chain issues or shortages. After pulling back the curtain on its new console during a one-hour Direct livestream, Nintendo announced in a press release Wednesday that Switch 2 preorders will open at select retailers on April 9.
During today’s Direct presentation, Nintendo spent a lot of time talking about the Switch 2’s new built-in GameChat functionality that will give players a way to share their screens during group video calls. But the company also announced that it’s rolling out an update for the Switch family of systems’ companion smartphone app.
Sorry for those who hoped for a $400 handheld, but at least the Nintendo Switch 2 includes mouse control JoyCons.
The latest hint was spotted by VGC, and it comes via the recently launched Nintendo Today app. The app featured a short teaser video today (April 1) that displays the Nintendo Switch 2 console in a variety of setups including docked, handheld and tabletop modes.
