Russia's defence ministry says more than 230 Ukrainian drones have been downed over Russia since Saturday morning.
Russia faced a penetrating barrage of drones from Ukraine over the weekend that caused all four of Moscow's major airports to close amid the intensifying war.
Gennady Starunov, winner of Moscow’s 2022 Teacher of the Year award, was killed in Ukraine. The announcement came from Mikhail Klochihin, director of Moscow’s Marshal Chuikov School, where Starunov taught civil defense.
MOSCOW (Reuters) -Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Saturday that air defence systems had downed two drones en route to Russia's capital. "Another drone attack on Moscow has been repelled. Emergency services specialists are working at the site where the debris fell," he said on Telegram.
