After being asked by host Josh Horowitz if there was “ever a real Bond conversation” involving Fassbender, the X-Men actor responded, “I met with Barbara Broccoli just, you know, through passing and I actually went in for an audition phase before Daniel [Craig] was cast, but I don’t think I was ever in the mix.”

Michael Fassbender blew any chance he might have had of playing 007 when he recommended another actor for the iconic role – Daniel Craig.

Fassbender was featured on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, where he revealed that he met Barbara Broccoli, the former producer of the James Bond franchise, for an audition for the part. He revealed that he doesn't know why he named dropped Daniel Craig. “I don’t know why I was promoting him, I should have been promoting myself,” he said.

If I had to describe Michael Fassbender in three words, they surely wouldn’t have been “terrible at auditions.” Unfortunately the Black Bag star has given himself that designation, and after sharing some rather interesting stories involving auditions for Mad Max: Fury Road and Casino Royale.
