A Massachusetts man accidentally bought two identical tickets for the same Powerball drawing and ended up with a pair of prizes, each worth $1 million.

Paul Corcoran won two separate $1 million Powerball jackpots in under a week, the Massachusetts Lottery announced.

FRISCO, Texas — A North Texas resident recently won a $2 million Powerball drawing prize. A Frisco resident claimed the prize for the July 9 drawing, according to Texas Lottery. The prize-winning ticket was bought at Walmart Supercenter store at 8555 Preston Road in Frisco. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — There was no overall jackpot winner in Saturday’s Powerball drawing, allowing the prize to climb to $248 million. The Saturday, July 12, 2025, numbers are 8-16-24-33-54 Powerball 18 Power Play 2x. The next drawing is Monday, July 14.

According to a press release from Powerball, Paul Corcoran of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, won $2 million in the July 9 Powerball drawing. He did so with a pair of tickets, both of which were worth $1 million after he matched five numbers. Corcoran did not intend to purchase both tickets, though.

A Texan claimed a $2 million prize from Powerball, according to the Texas Lottery. The Frisco resident bought their ticket at Walmart Supercenter, at 8555 Preston Road in Frisco. Before joining the Express-News in 2021, he worked in newsrooms in McAllen, and Boulder, Colo. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University.

According to the release, Corcoran initially bought a ticket for seven Powerball drawings, but mistakenly thought the final drawing on that ticket had already occurred. He then purchased another multi-draw ticket that also included the July 9 drawing, the Massachusetts Lottery reported.

The winning numbers from the Monday, July 14 drawing are 8, 12, 45, 46 and 63. The Powerball was 24 . The Power Play multiplier was 2x. Check back to see if anyone won the Powerball jackpot.
