A 90-year-old Howell man died Wednesday after falling through the ice on a Livingston County lake while windsurfing, officials said. Deputies were called at about 2 p.m. to Lake Chemung in Genoa Township for a report of a person who fell through the ice, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office said.

GENOA TWP., MI — A 90-year-old man died Wednesday after falling through the ice while windsurfing on a Livingston County Lake. Emergency responders were called around 2 p.m. March 13 to Lake Chemung in Genoa Township after witnesses reported seeing the fall, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reported in a release.

Deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the water rescue around 2 p.m. Wednesday, after witnesses reported a windsurfer fell through the ice.
