The Federal government is working on a plan to finance its HIV response without relying heavily on foreign aid.

In a last-minute move, the Trump administration issues an emergency waiver to ensure millions of people in 55 countries continue receiving life-saving HIV treatment.

The global body noted that it could reverse decades of progress and potentially take the world back to the 1980s and 1990s when millions died of HIV every year, globally.
