Medics took a Fort Lauderdale police officer to a local hospital on Tuesday after she was “overcome by smoke” while searching for a dog inside a burning apartment.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department announced two successful investigations by its Animal Crimes Unit. Created in April 2024, its work has already led to 26 charges.

At the city’s police department headquarters, on Saturday, the woman reported Quinshon Judkins, an NFL rookie running back, was to blame for the bruises on her face, arm, and leg, according to a Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s arrest report.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department released 911 audio from the call made reporting the Cleveland Browns running back for allegedly hitting a woman with whom he had at one time a romantic relationship. The alleged victim in the call admits to not seeking medical attention, but she did tell the officer taking the report that issues existed.
