The Ford Bronco is marketed as one of the most capable off-roaders on sale but an issue with its trick rear shocks has forced the automaker to issue a recall for almost 150,000 examples in the United States. While Ford doesn’t know of any accidents or injuries caused by the problem, it had received 551 warranty claims as of December 11.

This recall only affects Broncos with external reservoir shocks, which includes Badlands and Broncos equipped with the Sasquatch package. Ford says the remedy is under development, and that it will notify owners by mail.
