Diego Lopes is taking his UFC 314 loss in stride. On Sunday, Lopes (27-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) released a statement on his unanimous decision loss Saturday to Alexander Volkanovski (26-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) in the promotion’s vacant featherweight title fight main event at Kaseya Center in Miami.

Volkanovski wins by unanimous decision in his 10th straight title fight, snapping a two-bout losing streak and ending Lopes’ five-fight win run at UFC 314 in Miami.

Alexander Volkanovski made history at UFC 314 after winning a back-and-forth war against Diego Lopes to reclaim the featherweight title in the main event. The victory crowns Volkanovski as champion again and he becomes the first fighter over 35 years old to hold a UFC title in any division from 155 pounds or below.
