JD Davison had a heck of a season in the G League, but the Celtics waived the guard to dip back under the NBA's second apron.

JD Davison, who was named the NBA G League MVP last season while playing for the Maine Celtics, was waived by the Boston Celtics on Thursday.

On Thursday, the Boston Celtics announced they have waived 22-year-old guard JD Davison. Davison spent the first three years of his NBA career as a two-way player for Boston. The Celtics had converted his two-way contract to a standard two-year deal in April and picked up his team option for the 2025-26 campaign in June.
