Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against a Tennessee man charged with killing the parents, grandmother and uncle of an infant found abandoned in a home’s front yard.

The Lake County Courthouse saw 28-year-old Austin Drummond via video conference call as the judge read aloud the charges against him. Drummond is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, as well as aggravated kidnapping and abandonment.

Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against a man accused of murdering four family members in West Tennessee.

At the news conference Tuesday, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director David Rausch said the suspect’s girlfriend was related to the victims. Goodman later confirmed to CNN Drummond’s girlfriend and Rose were sisters.

Austin Drummond is facing four counts of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated kidnapping and weapons offenses.

A manhunt for the suspect in the Tennessee kidnappings and killings of four people, including three from the same family, ended Tuesday, police said.

Authorities had been searching for Austin Robert Drummond since July 29, when four people were found dead and an infant was abandoned in northwest Tennessee.

Drummond's criminal past stretches over a decade into the past, as he was convicted of aggravated robbery in 2014 after robbing a convenience store in Jackson, Tennessee the year prior, according to WREG-TV in Memphis. The suspect spent 13 years behind bars, during which he picked up an additional charge for retaliation, according to Fox News.
