Spanish media have had their say on Antony’s debut for Real Betis after the Brazil international was loaned to the La Liga side from Manchester United for the remainder of the season. Antony, 24, arrived at United from Ajax for a reported £81.3m fee in the summer of 2022.

Manchester United flop Antony started his loan spell at Real Betis impressively, winning the MVP award for his performance in the 2-2 draw with Athletic Bilbao. The Brazil international has moved to the La Liga side for the rest of the season after an underwhelming two-and-a-half seasons at Old Trafford.

In his first 72 minutes in his new surroundings, Antony took two shots, created two big chances, successfully completed 20 of his 24 pass attempts, and was able to finish his debut having won the Man of the Match mantle for also boasting a 100% record in crosses, long balls, and tackles. Manchester United winger Antony has joined La Liga side Real Betis on loan until the end of the season. The 24-year-old Brazilian signed for United from Ajax in August 2022 for £81.3m - the second most expensive player in the club's history behind Paul Pogba.

The 20-year-old left-back is seen as a potential wing-back for Amorim’s system. Betis, managed by Manuel Pellegrini, are enduring a disappointing season and are only 12th in LaLiga, while they came 15th in the Europa Conference League group stage.
