Brave New World set the high water mark for 2025 when it made $88.8 million during its first Friday-to-Sunday playing on the big screen, and A Minecraft Movie just managed to bring in $157 million (per The Numbers).

With “Minecraft” accounting for around four-fifths of the overall business, the No. 2 film on this weekend’s charts was Amazon MGM’s “A Working Man” with $7.3 million in its second weekend, giving the $40 million action film a 10-day domestic total of $27.7 million.

After three days of release, "A Minecraft Movie" is already the second-highest grossing film of the year behind "Captain America: Brave New World."

This isn't Momoa's first time wearing a velvet to an event. He famously wore a pink velvet suit to the Oscars a few years back.

If it does anything, “A Minecraft Movie” marks the comedic coming of age of Momoa, who has shown glimpses of his chops in the “Aquaman” and “Fast X” movies.
