The Nintendo Switch 2 officially drops on Thursday, June 5, and it will be available to purchase at Walmart, Target, GameStop and Best Buy. However, seeing as preorders for the new console and its “Mario Kart World” bundle sold out in minutes, you’ll have to act fast to make sure you can bring it home on launch day.
If you missed your chance the first time around, you now have another opportunity to pick up Nintendo’s GameCube Controller for the Switch 2. It’s available once again from the My Nintendo Store for $64.99, giving fans another shot at securing the wireless gamepad.
You can't simply go to the My Nintendo Store and buy the Switch 2. To order the Switch 2, you need to log in with an active, paid Nintendo Switch Online account. Once you do that, you can choose either a Switch 2 standalone console or the Mario Kart World bundle and then hit the confirm button to "register your interest" in ordering a Switch 2.
These new features include 4K resolution and HDR10 compatibility. The Nintendo Switch 2 also has 120Hz support, although this is limited to 1080p (Full HD) resolution with the console in docked mode, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), which is only available in handheld mode.
