An unusual FDA panel on antidepressant use during pregnancy elevated clinicians and researchers who are deeply skeptical of the drugs.

A Food and Drug Administration panel on Monday discussing the use of antidepressants during pregnancy largely amounted to misinformation or facts taken out of context, according to several psychiatrists who tuned into the meeting.

On Monday morning, the FDA hosted a 10-person expert panel on the use during pregnancy of SSRIs, which include medications like fluoxetine (Prozac), sertraline (Zoloft) and citalopram (Celexa), among others.
