The elevator was not working so we had to do the 234 steps by foot. That was actually fine but we were not allowed to stop for security reasons. The murals are nice and the 360 view from the top is n…Full review by ChristelLux

I bring visitors here to see the Depression era murals inside, which are artful and interesting. But you can also climb to the top to see some views. This was built by a wealthy resident to honor t…Full review by Thomas V

It was a bit of a shame that the weather was windy and a tad rainy but I still got a good 360 view of San Francisco. The arch shape of the windows added a cool effect. Worth a visit!Full review by Simonkn20
If I book a ticket, will I have a time slot & if so will that ensure I get to go up at that time?

Not sure what these people are talking about. I wish people wouldn't answer questions if they really do not know the answer, but... You absolutely can pre-purchase a ticket for a specific date and time. With that ticket, you are guaranteed the elevator ride to the top at your specified time. When you are buying the tickets online, immediately after you pick the quantity, it goes straight to the calendar where you pick the date and time. I went on a busy Saturday morning with an 11am ticket, and didn't wait in a line at all, we only had to stand at the bottom of the elevator for about 2 minutes while the elevator came down. Links are not permitted or I would post the link to the ticket purchase, but if you go to the SF parks and rec page for Coit Tower, about half way down the page, you will see a big brown button that says "Pre-purchase your mural tour and/or elevator tickets now!" Hope this helps.
Is it possible to go up to the tower peak by stairs, not by elevator? If yes, do I need to pay for that?
